General Children Issues
Child Law Solicitors
We are here to help separated parents reach an agreement as quickly as possible on all child related issues preferably without the need to issue Court proceedings. If matters cannot be resolved either by way of negotiation then it may be necessary for you to make an application to the Court for a Specific Issue Order. We can provide you with expert advice and support throughout the whole of this process.
We provide free initial telephone consultations for all our clients. Call our specialist Child Law Solicitors now on 0844 800 9860 or contact us online for advice about your specific issue.
Specific Issue Orders
A Specific Issue Order is an order which resolves a specific question which has arisen in connection with any aspect of parental responsibility for a child.
It does not give a parent a general power. It just makes a decision on one issue over which there is a disagreement. For example, it could be used to decide which school a child should attend or the religion a child should adopt. However, it cannot be used to achieve a ‘back-door’ child arrangements order.
If you require further information about establishing regular contact or making arrangements for a child to live with you, please refer to our Child Contact and Child Custody pages.
As in all cases, the court’s main concern is for the welfare of the child. The court will always put the child’s best interests first and this will determine the outcome of any application for an order.
